Biographical or historical data
Adam Wayland (ca. 1725-1781) was a farmer and miller who lived in Culpeper County, Virginia. He established a mill which was later operated by his son and grandson. Wayland married first Elizabeth Blankenbaker (ca. 1725-1775) and had 6 children. He married second Mary Finks (ca. 1750-1830) and had 2 children. John Wayland (ca. 1754-1841) was Adam Wayland's second child and oldest son by Elizabeth. He became a prosperous miller in Madison County, Virginia. John Wayland married Rosa Wilhoit about 1776 and they had 10 children including Simeon Bluford Wayland (1786-1847). Simeon Wayland operated the family mill in Culpeper County. He married Mary Ann Kirtley (1795-1878) 5 November 1816 and they had 7 children.
