Biographical or historical data
Alexander Banton was born on 26 September 1921 (some sources say 1922) in Buckingham County, Virginia, the son of Lillian Christian Banton and Alexander Banton. During World War II, he served with the Army, becoming a rifleman as a private first class with the 458th Engineer Depot Company. After the war, he returned to live and farm in Buckingham County. Banton died on 27 April 1987.
