Biographical or historical data
Hiram England was born 1839 February 13 in Scott County, Virginia. On 1862 September 1, he enlisted in Company I of the 64th Virginia Mounted Infantry at Lee County and was reported to have deserted 1863 March 17. According to the compiler of this collection, Hiram England also served in Company E, 1st Tennessee Cavalry. The regiment's muster roll indicated that he deserted from Yellow Creek Hospital on 1862 August 14. The charge of desertion, however, was removed and England was honorably discharged to date 1862 August 14. On 1865 April 11, the record indicates that he was mustered out of the 1st Tennessee Cavalry. He died 1890 March 15.
