Summary
Collection, 1946-1967, of audio recordings and ephemera. Bolling Byrd Flood (1915-2000) interviewed and recorded relatives, friends and acquaintances, popular radio shows, speeches, and amateur musical performances from 1947 until the early 1950's. In addition to the audio, the collection also contains one folder of personal papers consisting of letters, clippings, a Harry F. Byrd (1887-1966) for Senate campaign card, and a copy of the Communist Party USA publication "The Daily Worker" that calls for the ousting of U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy (1908-1957) from the U.S. Senate. Original recordings were created with a portable audio recording device to create direct to disc acetate masters. The audio was reformatted into 130 mp3 files on two CDs from eighty acetate disc originals
