Biographical or historical data
Charles L. Carty was born in Roanoke, Virginia on 3 December 1863. He was employed as a tinner. Carty served with the 2nd Virginia Infantry during the Spanish-American War. 1910, he and his family were residing in Covington, Virginia. Carty was admitted to the Mountain Branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Johnson City, Tennessee on 29 September 1919. He was later transferred to the Southern Branch in Hampton, Virginia, and died in Washington, DC on 24 December 1919.
