Summary
  • Vestry book, 19 November 1663-1 December 1767. The earliest dates entered in the vestry book are of records created while the parish was still a part of Lancaster County. For transcriptions see, THE VESTRY BOOK OF CHRIST CHURCH PARISH, MIDDLESEX COUNTY, VIRGINIA, 1663-1767, transcribed, annotated, and indexed by C. G. Chamberlayne, 1927. Accession 30092 is the manuscript copy of this volume and is located in the vault. (Accession 19772)
  • Volume, 1653-1814, consisting of photostats of register and miscellaneous material, 1653-1812, and photostats of a manuscript volume, 1684-1814. The register and miscellaneous material, 1653-1812, includes christenings, marriages, and burials. These records begin while the area was still Lancaster County. The manuscript volume, 1684-1814, is eighty pages of register information bound together in a single volume. Some of these are obviously loose pages which have strayed from the original register; others are of unknown origin. These latter pages may have strayed from a missing church register or a rector's private register, or they may have been meant to be copied into this or another register. For transcriptions see, THE PARISH REGISTER OF CHRIST CHURCH PARISH, MIDDLESEX COUNTY, VIRGINIA, FROM 1653-1812, published by The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Virginia, 1964, originally published, 1897. This volume transcribes and indexes the Register, 1653-1812, with the exception of the index to slaves. The arrangement differs from the original. Accession 30091 is the manuscript copy of this volume and is located in the vault.(Accession 20285)
  • Records, 1769-1859, including baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and deaths. Most entries are for the period 1846-1856, some for 1769-1771. (Accession 22371)
