Biographical or historical data
Daniel P. Jordan was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on 22 July 1938. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and held many teaching posts including College of Richmond, Virginia Commwealth University and University of Virginia. Since 1985 Jordan has headed the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, a nonprofit organization which owns and operates Monticello.
