Summary
The Dewey Ritter Collection includes 45 rpm records, photographs, sheet music, fliers from the New Dominion Barn Dance, "Telelog" from WRVA Television, and a photocopy of page 2-3 of September 16, 1965 issue of the Crewe-Burkeville Journal. The newspaper pages include photographs and information on Dewey Ritter and the Panhandle Cowboys of the WTVR television show, "Country Music Time", and the Country Cavaliers, the staff band on the "New Dominion Barn Dance". Of note is a photograph of a framed collage, which includes a photograph of Dewey Ritter, the four 45 rpm records, and photocopies of sheet music. For preservation reasons, the framed collage was taken apart. The 45 rpm records have been digitized and are accessible on CD

Biographical or historical data
Dewey Ritter was born on 1 June 1929 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. A country musician, Ritter emceed "Country Music Time" from 1962 to 1968 on WTVR in Richmond. He also appeared regularly on the New Dominion Barn Dance on WRVA Radio. He died in Chesterfield County on 12 August 2001.
