Biographical or historical data
Donald Eugene Croll was born in Topeka, Kansas on 22 April 1920. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the beginning of World War II, and served with the 259th Ordnance Medium Maintenance Company in the Philippine Islands. After the war, Croll studied journalism at the University of Kansas, and graduated in 1949. He then attended the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He married in 1950, and was appointed to the West Mecklenburg Charge in Virginia. Rev. Croll also served charges in Hampton, Buchanan, Staunton, Saluda, Stafford, and Richmond, Virginia. He died in Richmond on 9 July 2004.
