Biographical or historical data
Edmund W. Dyer was born about 1813 in Pendleton County, (West) Virginia, to Zebulon Dyer and Rebecca Wagoner Dyer. Edmund Dyer became clerk of the county court. He moved his family to Cedar Falls, Iowa, in the 1850s and became a farmer. By 1870, he was a book keeper in Dubuque, Iowa. Dyer and his wife Susan J. Snodgrass Dyer (b. ca. 1815) had four sons.
