Biographical or historical data
Crawley Finney was born 17 January 1798 in Amelia County, Virginia, to John Finney and Nancy Finney. Crawley Finney became a physician and commenced practicing in Nansemond County, Virginia. He married five times. First to Eliza Woodward (d. 1824) 16 October 1817, and they had at least three children. Second to Susannah Jordon (ca. 1804-1840) 5 February 1827, and they had at least five children. Third to Fanny A. Whitfield (d. 1841) 24 June 1841. Fourth to Margaret A. Whitfield (d. 1852) 31 December 1842, and they had at least two children. Fifth to Rebecca Percivil June 1855. Finney died in Nansemond County 24 August 1856.
