Biographical or historical data
Elijah Buck Roark, Jr. was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on 14 March 1925. He was the son of Elijah B. Roark, Sr. (1898-1976) and Maggie Eula Hodnett (1900-1984). Roark served in the 16th Infantry during World War II and participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He married Nelson Ruth Hughes in South Boston, Virginia on 21 June 1947. Roark died in Richmond on 4 June 1996.
