Biographical or historical data
Francis Bartlett was born 25 February 1797 in Plymouth, Massachusetts to Francis Bartlett and Anne Cornish Bartlett. His family later moved to Athens, Ohio. Bartlett attended Hampden-Sydney College, receiving his AB in 1825, then attended Union Theological Seminary, becoming a minister. After serving as a minister for a time in Brunswick County, Virginia, Bartlett returned to Ohio, serving as a minister to Congregational Churches there. He died in Athens County, Ohio, 10 March 1868.
