Biographical or historical data
Robert Branigin Springer was born on 27 April 1942 in Lakewood, Ohio, the second child of William Oren Springer (1899-1968) and Dorothy Margaret Todd Springer (1905-1985). The family moved first to Cleveland, Ohio, and then Verona, New Jersey. As a young man, Springer attended Peekskill Military Academy in New York, but left early to enlist with the United States Navy. After service on board the USS Lawrence, USS Neosho, and USS Corry, he completed active duty in 1963 and returned to high school in Verona, graduating in 1966. Springer went on to work for many years as an architect's draftsman in New York (State) before retiring in 1993.
