Muster rolls and payrolls, dated 31 October-31 December 1860 and 31 August-31 October 1866, of Company F, 1st Infantry Regiment, United States Army. Before the Civil War, Company F, commanded by Seth Maxwell Barton (1829-1900), and the 1st Infantry Regiment, commanded by Carlos Adolphus Waite (d. 1866), were stationed at Fort Cobb, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) in 1860. After the war, Company F, commanded by Leslie Smith (d. 1907), and the 1st Infantry Regiment, commanded by Robert Christie Buchanan (1811-1878) were stationed at Jackson Barracks, Louisiana in 1866. The remainder of accession 22650 is filed with Fairfax County Court records
