Papers consist of a deed, 10 June 1829, for 160 acres in Randolph County from Abraham Vanderpool and Harriet G. Vanderpool to Daniel Linn, all of New York City, and a certification, 12 June 1829, of the execution of the deed of the Vanderpools to Linn, attested to by Elisha Morrill and James Flanagan, justices of the peace of New York City. Papers also contain a certification, 12th June 1828, of conveyance of 30,000 acres in Randolph County, (West) Virginia, from Alexander Wolcott (ca. 1758-1828) of Middletown, Connecticut, to Abraham B. Vanderpool of New York, New York, which includes a copy of the original land grant of 100,000 acres from Governor Robert Brooke (1751-1800) to Wolcott on 28 September 1796 and a copy of a power of attorney, dated 26 April 1828, from Wolcott to Silas Hathaway of New York to sell any and all of 200,000 acres Wolcott owns in Randolph County
