Biographical or historical data
Joseph Wright Miller was born 13 November 1836 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, to James Miller and Darthula Wright Miller. Joseph Wright Miller was a medical student at Jefferson College. When the Civil War began, Miller mustered into Company K, 16th Pennsylvania Cavalry, on 2 October 1862. He was promoted to hospital steward 28 January 1863. Miller mustered out of the service 11 August 1865. He married Eleanor P. Kramer on 23 December 1867. Miller was a physician in Beaver, Pennsylvania, after the war ended.
