Biographical or historical data
James H. Royster was born 12 September 1781. He was a merchant in Richmond, Virginia. Royster married Mary Gregory Bohannon (d. 1858) 10 September 1807, and they had one daughter, who was supposedly romantically linked with Edgar Alan Poe. Royster died in North Carolina 10 May 1833.
