Biographical or historical data
Lilburn Burnley Railey was born in 1868 in Albemarle County, Virginia, to James Pleasants Railey (1827-1908) and Cornelia Burnley Railey (1833-1896). A prosperous farmer in Albemarle County, Railey was active in the Democratic party. He married Edna Elizabeth Lewis 29 October 1895, and they had no children. Railey died in Albemarle County 27 July 1938, and was buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Charlottesville, Virginia.
