Biographical or historical data
John Singleton Millson was born in Norfolk, Virginia, 1 October 1808. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1829. He began his practice in Norfolk. Millson was elected to Congress and served from 1849 to 1861. He resumed his law practice. Millson died in Norfolk 1 March 1874, and was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
