Biographical or historical data
Marshall P. Wood was born in November 1837 in Cheshire County, New Hampshire. Before the Civil War, Wood worked on the family farm. When the war began, he enlisted in Company I, 9th New Hampshire Infantry. After the war, he returned to Cheshire County and became a farmer. He and his wife Julia were married in 1861 and they had one child.
