Biographical or historical data
Miles L. Smith was born in Milford, Connecticut, in 1836 to Lewis Smith (1806-1867) and Abigail Smith (1803-1897). During the Civil War, Smith served Company K, 10th Connecticut Infantry. After the war, he returned home and worked as a carpenter. By the end of his life, Smith lived in Fitch's Home for the Soldiers. He died in 1911 and was buried in Milford Center Cemetery. Smith and his wife Katie (b. ca. 1843) had one child.
