Biographical or historical data
James W. Graves was a prominent citizen of Orange County, Virginia, and very active in the county militia. He married Sarah Jane Graves (d. ca. 1878) and they had children. Graves died between 29 September 1856, when he wrote his will, and 24 November 1856, when it was proved in the Orange County Court.
