Biographical or historical data
The Child Day-Care Council was created by an act of the General Assembly in 1987 (HB 1237, chap. 698) to formulate standards and regulations for licensure and operation of day care centers in Virginia. The council is comprised of 28 members appointed by the Governor. Clerical and other services required are provided by the Dept. of Social Services.
