Biographical or historical data
Norborne Parish was formed in 1769 from Frederick Parish. Berkeley County was formed in 1772 from Frederick County. Morgan's Chapel, built around 1740 by Morgan Morgan (1688-1766), is said to have been the first Episcopal church in the area which became Berkeley County, (West) Virginia and the first Episcopal Church west of the Alleghenies.
