These records contain surveys which were returned prior to the removal of the records from the proprietor's office to Richmond, endorsed "Considered as Forfeited." Although the counties of Caroline and Essex were not in the Northern Neck, a 1759 survey of 1,515 acres lying in those counties is filed with these surveys. The period covered is 1723; 1725; 1732; 1734-1736; 1739-1743; 1745-1749; 1751-1752; 1754-1755; 1757-1759; 1763; 1767; 1769; 1779, and undated
