Biographical or historical data
Owen Thomas Wilson was born in Bland County, Virginia on 17 February 1922. He was the son of Dewey Kent Wilson and Annabell Barger. Wilson graduated from Ceres High School in 1939. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Forces 371st Bomb Squadron. He was killed in action on Funafuti Atoll on 22 April 1943. He was buried on Funafuti, but later his remains were reinterred on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. His remains were later reinterred in Sharon Lutheran Cemetery in Ceres, Virginia.
