Biographical or historical data
John Asplund was born in Sweden. He went to England and joined the Navy in 1775. He deserted and went to North Carolina. Ordained a Baptist minister in Southampton County, he settled in Maryland. In 1807, he drowned trying to cross Fishing Creek in Virginia.
