Biographical or historical data
Robert Oscar Moore was born 28 December 1858 in Powhatan County, Virginia. In 1876 he moved to Sunnyside in Cumberland County, Virginia, and began clerking in a store. In 1884, he moved to Clinton (Cumberland County), Virginia, and opened his own store. Moore operated his store for over 50 years. Moore married Nattie Brown (b. 1871) 9 December 1893 and they had two children. Moore died in Cumberland County 13 August 1936.
