Biographical or historical data
John Fred Pierson was a soldier and merchant. He was born 25 February 1839, in New York City. In 1865 he was breveted brigadier-general for gallant and meritorious services during the Civil War. After the war he worked as a merchant in New York City. He died on 12 December 1932 and is buried at the New York City Marble Cemetery.
