Biographical or historical data
George William White was born 22 July 1830 in Nottoway County, Virginia to William Spotswood White (1800-1873) and Jane Isabelle Watt White. He attended the University of Virginia from 1848 to 1850 and the Virginia Union Theological Seminary from 1855 to 1857. White was licensed in Spring 1857 and ordained 1858. He served as pastor of Brunswick Church in the Hanover Presbytery from 1858 to 1866 and as pastor of the Moorefield Church from 1866 to 1904. White was pastor emeritus of Moorefield from 1904 to 1906. He married Wilhelmina Ashlin (d. 1899) 21 July 1853, and they had five children. White died 23 March 1906.
