Biographical or historical data
Carter Edmonds Talman, Jr., was born 15 March 1917 in Richmond, Virginia, to Carter Edmonds Talman (1886-1961) and Helen Rose Talman (1893-1972). He graduated from St. Christopher's School in 1935 and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1940. He volunteered for the United States Navy in 1941 and spent four years serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. After World War II ended, Talman returned to Richmond and became a commercial insurance broker, working first for Muhleman and Company, and then for DeJarnette and Paul, Inc., for 30 years until his retirement in 1984. Talman married Margaret Camp Towers (1927-) 6 September 1952, and they had two daughters. Talman died in Richmond 29 May 2003, and was buried in Hollywood Cemetery.
