Biographical or historical data
Richard Everard Meade was born 1 November 1778 in Amelia County, Virginia, to Everard Meade (1748-1802) and his first wife Mary Thornton Meade. Richard Meade became a prominent physician in Amelia County, but by 1830, had moved to Greene County, Alabama. By 1837 he had moved to Lowndes County, Mississippi, where he died in 1840. Meade married Frances Cooke Bolling (d. 1864) 29 October 1808, and they had children.
