Biographical or historical data
Gordon Aronhime was born in 1911 in Roanoke, Virginia. He attended Virginia High School in Bristol, Virginia. Aronhime received his BA from the University of Virginia and his MA in history from East Tennessee State University. During World War II, Aronhime served in the U. S. army as a warrant officer. Upon returning to Bristol, he worked as a photographer and writer for BRISTOL NEWSPAPERS in the 1950s. From the 1960s until his death, Aronhime wrote columns of historical interest about Bristol, Washington County, southwestern Virginia, and eastern Tennessee for the Bristol HERALD COURIER. He also worked as a psychiatric social worker in Kingsport, Tennessee. Aronhime died 25 October 1983 in Bristol.
