Biographical or historical data
Sue Coalter Fulks was born 8 December 1876 in Henrico County, Virginia, to Claiborne Lewis Fulks (1849-1917) and Ann Eliza Stratton Fulks (1850-1927). Sue Fulks attended Manchester High School and graduated from Longwood College in 1895. She taught at Manchester High School until her marriage to Edwin Turnley Williams (1871-1934). Due to his failing health, she returned to work as a dietician at Bainbridge Junior High School in 1929 and worked in the Richmond school system until 1946. Also in 1929, Williams became the manager of Summer Rest, a vacation resort in Albemarle County, Virginia, and remained in that position until 1965. She married Edwin Turley Williams 12 March 1901, and they had one daughter. Sue Williams died 6 October 1977 in Newport News, Virginia. She was buried in Maury Cemetery in Richmond (Manchester), Virginia.
