Summary
Papers, 1811, 1902, and undated, of the Twyman family, include a contemporary handwritten copy of a letter, 29 Jan 1902, written to Davis Twyman (1874-1931), by a man who served with his father, Horace Davis Twyman (1840-1897), in the Civil War. The younger Twyman had written to the man (whose name does not appear on the copy) asking for his recollections of Twyman's father. Although Horace D. Twyman was from Madison, Virginia, and returned there after the war, the letter describes his service as captain of Company A, 1st Battalion, Georgia Sharpshooters. Also included are the supplementary source sheet for the Jamestowne Society membership application of Sarah Warner Ferguson Faulconer, which cites the Horace Davis Twyman Bible (a copy of which is on file at the Library of Virginia), and includes a typed copy of the will of William Twyman, 1811
