Vestry book, 27 December 1703-24 April 1795. Records the vestry's administration of its duties, including appointing processioners and issuing orders for the processioning. Processioning returns, however, are not entered. In 1787 the vestrymen became "trustees" or "Gentlemen Trustees," who continued to function for the remainder of the period. Biographical or historical data
Wicomico Parish was created in 1648 and, along with St. Stephen's Parish, was one of the two earliest parishes established in Northumberland County. Early records refer to the parish as "Great Wiccocomico." The names and boundaries of the parish underwent numerous changes until 1664 when the present boundary lines were established.
