Biographical or historical data
Alexander Dickie Galt (1777-1840) was the son of John Minson Galt (1744-1808) and Judith Craig Galt of Williamsburg, Virginia. He attended the College of William and Mary and Oxford University in England. He served as a surgeon during the War of 1812. He was a doctor at the Eastern State Hospital. James Dickie Galt (1831-1888) was the son of Alexander Galt (1793-1855) and Mary Sylvester Jeffrey Galt (1795-1840) of Norfolk, Virginia. He served as a surgeon for the Confederate army during the Civil War.
