Biographical or historical data
  • Samuel Jones was a resident and sheriff of Buckingham County. While no military service record for Jones has been located, he was at various times also known as Captain Samuel Jones and Major Samuel Jones. His estate is listed in the Buckingham County Personal Property Tax records in 1839; thus, he likely died circa 1839.
  • Pleasant Talbott was the son of Williston J. (1750-1827) and Elizabeth Cocke Talbott of Campbell County. He married Sally Jones (relative of Samuel Jones?) on 30 March 1797. He and his wife resided on a plantation on Whipping Creek in Campbell County. Talbott died sometime between 1840-1850.
