Biographical or historical data
Philip Ludwell was born 4 February 1672/3 in Gloucester County, Virginia, to Philip Ludwell (1640-1723) and Lucy Higginson Ludwell. He served on the Governor's Council and as auditor-general. Ludwell married Hannah Harrison (1678-1731) and they had at least three children. Ludwell died at "Green Spring" in James City County, Virginia, 11 January 1726/7 and was buried in the Jamestown Church yard.
