These minutes are primarily concerned with the clothing of poor children in Lynchburg and includes lists of the children clothed for 1870-1873. Also includes a membership list of the society for 1871 (p. 3). There are no minutes for 1877. (Accession 21418a)

Biographical or historical data
This congregation was formed from Third Street Methodist Meeting House in 1850 when enough money had been raised to construct a new building. The church was first called Fourth Street Station until Fourth Street became Court Street. The Dorcas Society was a women's organization whose purpose was home missions under the sponsorship of the church.
