Biographical or historical data
Neville Lemmon was born 16 January 1888 in Baltimore, Maryland to John Southgate Lemmon (1841-1915) and Frances Addison Carter Dulany Lemmon (1851-1928). She attended private schools in Baltimore. Lemmon became active in the hunt society of Loudoun and Fauquier Counties, Virginia, and other social organizations, She learned how to do hand bookbinding as a hobby. After her marriage to Thomas Atkinson (1887-1974) in Washington D. C. in 1918, Neville Lemmon Atkinson remained active in organizations in Fauquier County. During the second World War, she provided activities for Englishwomen living in the Washington D.C. area because of the war. Neville Lemmon Atkinson and her husband had at least two children. She died 29 April 1988 in Warrenton, Virginia, and was buried in Sharon Cemetery in Middleburg, Virginia.
