Biographical or historical data
Andrew Knox was born in New York in 1835. He became a painter in Danbury, Connecticut. During the Civil War, Knox served as a lieutenant in the 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery Regiment. After the war, he and his wife Sarah had six children.
