Contains a letter from Samuel Shepard, Auditor of Public Accounts, to James Barbour, Speaker of the House of Delegates, transmitting the official statements of the revenue for the year 1809. Included with Shepard's letter are the following accounts: a list of balances due from the year 1782 to the year 1807 taken to 31 December 1809; a general state of the Commonwealth's revenue for 1809; a state of the revenue tax for the year 1809 arising on land, slaves, & other property; the amount of surplus on tobacco exported from 1 October 1808 to 1 October 1809; the amount of tax on law process, etc., from 1 October 1808 to 1 October 1809 (enclosure not included); the amount of register's fees from 1 October 1808 to 1 October 1809; a list of expenditures charged on the revenue of 1809 from 1 January 1809 to 1 January 1810; and a list of warrants issued under the head of the general appropriations from 1 January 1809 to 1 January 1810
