Biographical or historical data
Warner Lewis Baylor was born 22 June 1825 in Caroline County, Virginia, to George Daniel Baylor (1789-1848) and Elizabeth Lewis Fox Baylor (1794-1837). He became a doctor and was appointed an assistant surgeon in the Confederate army during the Civil War. After the war, he practiced medicine in Petersburg, Virginia. Baylor married first Mary A. E. Chappell (1828-1868) 27 January 1864 in Petersburg, Virginia, and they had two children. He married second Elizabeth Hoskins Wright and they had five children. Baylor died in 1894.
