A. Castleman; and a permit, dated 18 May 1865, signed by Major John Jenkins of the Confederate army allowing Jervey to return home

Biographical or historical data
Henry Jervey was born 14 May 1841 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was appointed an assistant surgeon in the provisional Confederate army 17 April 1862, with the appointment to date from 1 February 1862. He married Helen Louise Wesson (1843-1924) of Northampton County, North Carolina, 26 November 1863 and they had 5 children. After the Civil War, Jervey and his family settled in Powhatan County, Virginia, where he continued his career as a physician. Jervey died in Powhatan County 21 September 1900 and was buried in St. Luke's Episcopal Church cemetery.
