Biographical or historical data
John Dobson was born about 1761 probably in Gloucester County, Virginia. He served in the army during the American Revolution from 1777 until the British surrender at Yorktown in 1781. Dobson owned a plantation in Gloucester County. He and his wife Susan Dobson had at least four children. Dobson died in Gloucester County 23 November 1833.
