Biographical or historical data
St. Anne's Parish was formed from Sittenborne Parish in 1704. Sittenborne Parish was one of the parishes formed from Farnham Parish in the interim between Farnham's creation in 1656 and its division into North Farnham and South Farnham parishes in 1683. A part of South Farnham Parish was added to St. Anne's in 1770. The few records of Vauter's Church are the only records of St. Anne's Parish, Essex County, available at the Library of Virginia.
