Biographical or historical data
Charlotte Kemper (1837-1927) was educated and reared in Virginia. In 1882 she quit her job as a lecturer at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia to become a Presbyterian missionary in Brazil where she served with few interruptions until her death at the age of 90.
