Biographical or historical data
Donald Mackenzie was born 4 March 1764 at Applecrest, Ross County, Scotland. He moved to Petersburg, Virginia, where he became a prosperous merchant. Mackenzie was president of the Petersburg-Weldon Railroad. He married Sarah Carter Harrison (1775-1810). Mackenzie died 5 September 1844 and was buried in Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg.
